Wonderful Trip Experience!
A trip to New York City and Washington DC for thirty or so seventh graders seemed impossible until a team of 3 seventh grade teachers contacted Excursions Unlimited. We planned our curriculum to include groups of four playing the Stock Market Game and studying T.S. Eliot’s “Cats” as well as immigrant life in New York City. We also familiarized our student with important events and locations in Washington DC. Excursions Unlimited was key in arranging our 7 day trip that included all hotels and meals as well as tour guides on our bus in both cities. In Washington we toured the Smithsonian, the Holocaust Museum, a nighttime drive through the city, Vietnam Memorial, and much more. New York City was perfectly planned! We were very busy visiting The New York Stock Exchange at the closing bell! We visited the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, including the barracks where immigrants could be held if they exhibited symptoms of illness, a tenement where an immigrant family lived (2 rooms, no plumbing, kids slept on the floor, etc.). We even had lunch at Katz Deli! The trip wouldn’t have been complete without a night on Broadway, where we saw Cats! This trip went flawlessly thanks to Excursions Unlimited’s expertise and willingness to work with us teachers!
